Propaganda Oktaviāna Augusta valdīšanas laikā (27.g.pr.Kr. – 14.g. pēc Kr.)

Abstract

Bakalaura darba „Propaganda Oktaviāna Augusta valdīšanas laikā (27.g.pr.Kr.- 14.g.pēc Kr.)” mērķis ir izpētīt propagandas veidus un Oktaviāna Augusta lomu valdīšanas laikā. Darbā tiek pētīti sekojoši jautājumi: kādi bija Augusta propagandas veidi, kāda bija propagandas nozīme princepa varas leģitimēšanā, kas bija Romas republikas atjaunošanas ideja, kā Augusts radīja jaunu politisko sistēmu principātu, kādēļ miera politika palīdzēja Oktaviānam iegūt tautas simpātijas, kādu vietu vērtību un reliģijas atjaunošana ieņēma Augusta ideoloģijā. Pētījumā ir izmantoti desmit publicētie avoti un septiņi lietiskie avoti, tostarp tēlotājmāksla, templis, forums, monētas un mauzolejs. Atslēgas vārdi: propaganda, Augusts, principāts, miera politika, reliģijas un vērtību atjaunošana, Romas republikas atjaunošana.

This Bachelor’s Thesis deals with the propaganda during the reign of Octavian Augustus (27.BC – 14 AD). The goal of Thesis is to find out the ways and impact of propaganda during Augustu’s reign. This paper deals with the following questions: what were the types of Augustu’s propaganda, what was the propaganda’s role in legitimation of Augustu’s reign, what was the idea of Roman republic restoration, how the princeps managed to create a new system – principate, why the Augustus peace was so significant for gaining acknowledgment of Roman people, what was the significance of values and religion renewal in Augustu’s ideology. In Bachelor’s Thesis several sources have been used: ten published and seven material sources, among them sculptures, temple, forum, coins and mausoleum. The key words: propaganda, Augustus, principate, peace policy, values and religion renewal, Roman republic restoration.
