Online games have become a popular, profitable and widely diffused medium; still, it is hard to overlook the marginal attention online games get in the academic society. The purpose of the present research is to prepare a draft for an online monolingual gamers’ slang dictionary that can function as an aid when acquainting oneself with online games. The paper is based on practical lexicography and is an exploratory research; thus, the research method is primarily discourse analysis of available theoretical material with the qualitative perspective. The dictionary entries were tailored in accordance with the specified primary and secondary needs of the potential users. All in all, it can be concluded that in order to fulfil the needs of the users, dictionary entries need to be as simple as possible.
