Akadēmisko un vispārīgo vārdu biežuma salīdzinājums, izmantojot angļu valodas korpusus

Abstract

Bakalaura darba tēma veltīta korpusu lingvistikas jomas pētniecībai, lai veiktu biežāk lietoto vārdu salīdzināšanu akadēmiskajā un vispārējā angļu valodā ar teksta korpusu palīdzību. Izvēlētās tēmas aktualitāti nosaka valodniecības un moderno tehnoloģiju mijiedarbība, kā arī nepieciešamība izprast, kā tiek lietota un attīstās valoda. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir analizēt teorētisko literatūru par korpusu lingvistiku, kā arī atšķirības starp akadēmiskās un vispārējās angļu valodas pielietojumu. Pētījuma metodoloģija balstīta uz akadēmiskajā studijām un empīrisku pieeju pētījumam. Pētījuma dati iegūti, izmantojot atbilstošu programmatūru, kā arī analizējot biežāk sastopamos vārdus teksta korpusos akadēmiskajā un vispārīgajā angļu valodā. Pētījuma beigās tiek izdarīti secinājumi par to, ka pētījumā atspoguļotie dati uzskatāmi parāda vārdu lietojuma atšķirības un biežuma atšķirīgās proporcijas akadēmiskajos un vispārējās angļu valodas teksta korpusos. Atslēgas vārdi: korpusu lingvistika, vārdu krājums, izvietošanas biežums, atbilstība, akadēmiskā angļu valoda, vispārējā angļu valoda.

The present BA paper is devoted to investigation of the field of Corpus Linguistics in order to provide research results related to English word frequency comparison in Academic and General English text corpuses. The topicality of the chosen subject is based on the synergy of linguistics and modern technologies, as well as, on importance to understand the use and development of the English language. The aim of the BA paper is to analyse the theories underlying the corpus-based studies and differences between the use of Academic and General English. The methodology of the research is based on the review of the secondary sources and corpus-based empirical research. Analysis of the most frequent Academic and General English words in the corpora has been conducted, applying corpus-linguistics software. At the end of the research conclusions based on the results of word frequency and collocation analysis has been drawn that the represented data in the research obviously demonstrate the differences and correlation of Academic and General English word occurrences in chosen corpora.
