Atdzīvinot "Morgu": vācu ekspresionista Gotfrīda Benna agrīnās dzejas latviskojumu teorija un prakse

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā pētīti vācu ekspresionista Gotfrīda Benna agrīnās dzejas atdzejojumi latviešu valodā. Darba mērķis ir atklāt, pēc kādiem principiem vadījušies latviešu atdzejotāji, latviskojot Benna dzejoļu krājuma “Morgs un citi dzejoļi” dzejoļus. Darba pirmajā daļā noskaidroti vadošu ārzemju un latviešu tulkošanas un atdzejošanas pētnieku aprakstītie tulkošanas un atdzejošanas principi un to daudzveidība. Otrajā darba daļā iezīmēts Gotfrīda Benna dzīves gājums un dzejas īpašības, raksturota vācu ekspresionisma poētika, kā arī veikta Gotfrīda Benna dzejoļu atdzejojumu analīze un salīdzināšana. Darbā secināts, ka latviešu atdzejas tradīcijā atzīstami tādi atdzejojumi, kuri tiecas atveidot oriģināla formu, cenšoties saglabāt oriģināldzejoļa iedarbību uz lasītāju. Bakalaura darba izstrādes gaitā atdzejoti visi pieci Gotfrīda Benna dzejoļi, kas ietverti dzejas ciklā “Morgs”.

The Bachelor’s Thesis explores the Latvian translations of German expressionist Gottfried Benn's (1886-1956) early poetry. The purpose of the Bachelor’s Thesis is to reveal the principles Latvian translators have based their translations on when translating poems from Benn’s poem book “Morgue and other poems”. The first part of the study discusses different approaches to translating put forward by leading Latvian and foreign theoreticians. The second part outlines Gottfried Benn’s biography and poetry, describes the main qualities of German expressionist poetry and compares and analyses the Latvian translations of Benn’s early poems. The Thesis concludes that the translations that are preferred in the Latvian tradition of translating poetry are those that reproduce the formal aspects of the original, as well as provoke the same reaction in the reader as the original. While writting the Bachelor’s Thesis all five poems from Benn’s cycle “Morgue” have been translated into Latvian.
