| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Title: „Evaluation of microcirculatory response in different depths of hairy and acral skin”.
The purpose of the study was to evaluate the possibilities of contactless assessment of microcirculatory perfusion of hairy and acral skin in two different depths using the imaging photoplethysmography method.
The methods used in the research were Laser Doppler Imaging (LDI) and photoplethysmography (iPPG). In the measurements both methods were used simultaneously and synchronously. The principle of the optical method is based on radiation of specific light beam on the skin area under study and the collection of reflected light back in the detector. Various provocation tests were used during the research in order to assess the alterations of skin microcirculation. The impact mechanisms of local heating and rubefacient were examined.
During the course of the study it was proved that it is possible to evaluate the alterations of microcirculatory perfusion of skin more extensively when using the iPPG method rather than LDI. The parameters of hairy and acral skin perfusion are similar despite the use of different registration methods. The ointment causing vasodilation is effective only in the top layers of skin (epidermis and the upper layer of dermis). Local heating in acral skin causes vasodilation in the blood vessels of the top as well as the deeper layers of skin. | en_US |
