No tēmas atkarīgs ciešamās kārtas lietojums angļu valodas korpusos

Abstract

Ir zināms, ka ciešamā kārta tiek bieži vien pielietota lietišķajā stilā, bet tā nav tik bieži sastopama mutvārdu saziņā, bet vai ciešamās kārtas lietojums var atšķirties atkarībā no tēmas? Bakalaura darbā tika analizēts ciešamās kārtas lietojums atkarībā no materiāliem, kas var tikt atrodami korpusos. Darba hipotēze ir tāda, ka dažādos tematos ciešamās kārtas lietojums atšķiras. Lai pārbaudītu izvirzīto hipotēzi un sasniegtu izvirzīto pētījuma mērķi, tika izpētīti rakstītie avoti un agrāk veikti pētījumi par ciešamo kārtu un tās lietojumu. Pētījuma praktiskajai daļai tika izvēlēti pieci darbības vārdi un tie tika sameklēti trīs dažādos angļu valodas korpusos, izmantojot tiešsaistes programmu Compleat Lexical Tutor un tika atlasīti un izpētīti programmas uzrādītie piemēri no korpusiem un tika aplūkota tēma, kādā ir tikusi pielietota ciešamā kārta un kādus piemērus uzrāda katrs no izvēlētajiem tekstu korpusiem. Lai gan daudzi faktori var noteikt ciešamās kārtas izvēli un lietojumu, pētījuma rezultāti liek secināt, ka arī dotais temats var ietekmēt ciešamās kārtas lietojumu.

It is known that passive voice is used frequently in formal style and it does not occur much in spoken communication, but could the use of passive voice differ depending on topic? The paper investigates topic-dependent use of passive voice in the sources, which can be found in English corpora. The research hypothesis is that the use of passive voice will differ in different subjects. To validate the hypothesis and to reach the goal, the research theory and previous studies in the field have been explored. Five English verbs have been selected for analysis and searched in three corpora selected for the research by using an online program Compleat Lexical Tutor/Concordance. The most relevant samples have been collected and their use in passive voice was analysed, while taking into account the discipline or subject in which they occur and to observe the examples, which are provided by each of the corpora selected for the research. Several conditions can denote the use of passive, but the results suggest that topic can have some influence on the use of the passive voice.
