Donnas Tartas „Dadzītis” kā 21. gadsimta izaugsmes romāns

Abstract

Maģistra darba tēma ir Donnas Tartas Dadzītis kā 21. gadsmita izaugsmes romāns. Darba mērķis ir analizēt Tartas romānu balstoties uz izaugsmes romāna iezīmēm, lai atklātu, kā romāns atbilst noteiktā žanra prasībām, kā arī kādas tradicionālās žanra iezīmes autore ir saglabājusi un kādas izmainījusi, lai stāsts labāk atbilstu mūsdienu situācijai. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāja, ka, lai gan Donna Tarta ir sekojusi izaugsmes romānu tradīcijām rakstot romānu, autore ir izmainījusi dažus elementus un to pielietojumu. Šādas izmaiņas ne tikai padarījušas darbu aktuālāku 21. gadsimtam un interesantāku lasītājiem, bet arī ļāvušas Tartai atsvaidzināt klasisko žanru.

The theme of the Master thesis is Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch as a 21st century Bildungsroman. The purpose of the paper is to analyze Tartt’s novel according to the features of Bildungsroman in order to see how the novel applies to the demands of the genre, as well as which traditional features have been retained and which changed for the story to better describe a present day situation. The results of the research revealed that even though Donna Tartt has been faithful to the traditions of Bildungsroman when writing The Goldfinch, certain elements and their use have been changed. Not only have these changes made the work more topical for the 21st century and more interesting for the readers, but also have allowed the author to add fresh elements to the classical genre.
