Vietvārdi Smiltenes novadā

Abstract

Bakalaura darba temats ir "Vietvārdi Smiltenes novadā". Darba mērķis ir apkopot un sistematizēt apdzīvoto un neapdzīvoto vietu nosaukumus Smiltenes novadā. Darbā noskaidrota vietvārdu cilme un rašanās. Bakalaura darbā pētīti Smiltenes novada vietvārdi – pilsētu, ciemu, ezeru, dīķu, upju, kalnu, purvu, pļavu un pilskalnu nosaukumi. Darbā analizēti 185 autores savākti vietvārdi Smiltenes novadā, tie visi ir sastopami arī citos avotos. Analizējamais materiāls ir salīdzināts ar J. Endzelīna, J. Kavaca vietvārdu vākumiem, kā arī vietvārdu vārdnīcas un vietvārdu datubāzes datiem. Darbā sniegta vietvārdu etimoloģiskā analīze. Pielikumā pievienota Smiltenes novada karte.

Title of the bachelor’s work is „Toponyms of the Territory of Smiltene”. Aim of the work is to gather and systematize names of inhabited and uninhabited places of the territory of Smiltene. There is clarified the origin and emergence of place names in this work. There are examined toponyms of the territory of Smiltene in the bachelor’s work: names of cities, villages, lakes, ponds, rivers, mountains, swamps, meadows and castle mounds. There are analysed 185 toponyms of the territory of Smiltene gathered by the author, from which all are found in other sources. The material for analysis is compared with J. Endzelīns, J. Kavacs samplings, as well as the dictionary of toponyms and the database for toponyms data. There is given the etymological analysis for toponyms. Added map of the territory of Smiltene in the supplement.
