Okazionālismu tulkošana

Abstract

Maģistra darbā tiek pētīta okazionālismu tulkošana. Pētījuma mērķis ir noskaidrot, vai okazionālismus ir iespējams veiksmīgi pārnest no vienas valodas citā, neattālinoties no tulkojamā darinājuma oriģinālās nozīmes un tā, lai arī mērķvalodā tie būtu uzskatāmi par jauniem darinājumiem. Pētījumam tika izraudzīti latviešu žurnālista Lato Lapsas darinātie/lietotie okazionālismi. Kopā tika pārtulkoti 56 okazionālismi, iekļauti kontekstā. Kas attiecas uz pielietotajām pētījuma metodēm, nepieciešamā informācija tika iegūta, apskatot un apkopojoši analizējot pieejamos teorijas avotus saistībā ar okazionālismu tulkošanu un vārdu darināšanu latviešu valodā. Pētījums tika veikts divās daļās. Pirmā daļa – analīzes formā, proti, izvēlētie okazionālismi tika tulkoti no latviešu uz angļu valodu, un aiz katra piemēra veikta neliela gan tulkojamā, gan tulkotā okaionālisma analīze un to nozīme kontekstā. Otrā pētījuma daļa – aptaujas formā, proti, tika aptaujāti 27 ar tulkošanu un valodniecību saistīti speciālisti, lai noskaidrotu viņu viedokli saistībā ar okazionālismu tulkošanas nozīmi. Pētījuma rezultāti apliecina, ka vairumu okazionālismu (ar atsevišķiem izņēmumiem) ir iespējams veiksmīgi pārtulkot, tādējādi darba autore pierāda viņas izvirzīto hipotēzi, ka lielāko daļu okazionālismu ir iespējams veiksmīgi pārtulkot tā, lai tiktu saglabāta vārda oriģinālā nozīme, kā arī mērķvalodā šie vārdi būtu jauni darinājumi.

The present paper deals with the translation of nonce words. The goal of the research is to find out whether it is possible to transfer nonce words from one language into another without moving away from the original meaning of the original nonce word and so that it would remain as a nonce word in the target language as well. 56 nonce words created/used by Latvian journalist Lato Lapsa were selected for the purpose of the research. All the nonce words were translated in the context as they come. Regarding the methods of research, the research data were gathered by review and summative analysis of the available theoretical sources regarding the translation of nonce words and related issues as well as word building in Latvian. The research was carried out in two parts. The first part – in the form of an analysis, namely – the selected nonce words were translated in context and after each example a brief analysis was carried out. The second part – in the form of a questionnaire, namely – 27 translators and linguists were questioned in order to find out their opinion regarding the importance of translating nonce words. The results of the research show that a great part of the nonce words (with some particular exceptions) can be successfully translated, thus the author of the research proves her hypothesis stating that most of the nonce words can be successfully translated into another language so that they would keep their original meaning and they would remain as nonce words in the target language as well.
