Ezotērikas terminu atveide latviešu valodā

Abstract

Maģistra darba temats ir „Ezotērikas terminu atveide latviešu valodā”. Pēc vispārīgas iepazīšanās ar terminu veidošanas metodēm un ezotēriskas jomu atlases, autore nodaļās sīki analizē terminus publicētajos materiālos sadalījumā pa dažādām jomām. Terminu izpēte sākas ar pirmo latviešu valodā publicēto avotu aplūkošanu, pakāpeniski virzoties uz mūsdienās publicētajām grāmatām, žurnāliem un internetā pieejamo literatūru. Autore darbā ir izvēlējusies ļoti atšķirīgas jomas, lai varētu analizēt un salīdzināt tām raksturīgo terminu izcelsmi un atveidi. Pēc veiktās analīzes tiek izdarīti secinājumi un piedāvāti risinājumi labskanīgāku terminu veidošanai. Maģistra darba izstrāde balstās uz vairāku autoru darbiem un interneta resursiem. Kopumā darbā ir aplūkoti 174 ar ezotērisku saistīti termini un to attiecīgie tulkojumi. Darba izstrādē tika izmantota vēsturiskā metode un analīzes metode. Maģistra darba pētījuma rezultātā autore secina, ka terminu atveidošanas metodes ir atkarīgas no tā, cik nesen konkrētā joma ir kļuvusi populāra sabiedrībā, grāmatas autora rakstīšanas stila un arī tulkotāja spējas aktīvi piedalīties jaunrades procesā.

The subject of the Master’s Thesis is „Rendering of Esoteric Terms in Latvian”. After general review of the methods for creation of terminology and selection of the esoteric fields, the sections contain detailed analysis of the terms in the published materials in breakdown by different fields. The work on terminology starts with a review of the first published sources in Latvian, gradually moving to more recently published books, magazines and internet resources. Diverse fields were selected for the work, in order to analyse and compare the origin and rendering of the terminology characteristic to them. Conclusions are drawn and recommendations for rendering more appropriate terms are offered after the performed analysis. The author used books of several authors and internet resources in the Master’s Thesis. Total of 174 esoteric terms and their translations were examined in the paper. The author used historical method and analysis method. Research performed in the scope of the Master’s Thesis allows concluding that the methods for rendering of terms depend on how recently the specific field became popular in society, writing style of the author and the ability of the translator to actively participate in creative work.
