Sākotnējie nolūka palīgteikumi angļu lietišķajā rakstu valodā

Abstract

Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt sākotnējo nolūka palīgteikumu lietojumu angļu lietišķajā rakstu valodā. Lai mērķi sasniegtu, tika izmantots sekundārais pētījums, aplūkojot agrākus pētījumus par atbilstīgajām tēmām, ko veikuši tādi autori kā Quirk et al. (1985), Eastwood (2002), Biber et al. (1999) un Diessel (2001; 2005), kā arī sākotnējais pētījums, kas iekļāva datu apkopošanu un kvantitatīvo analīzi. Pētījuma rezultāti liecina, ka rakstos, kas saistīti ar lietišķām tēmām, sākotnējie nolūka palīgteikumi bija sastopami biežāk nekā beigu nolūka palīgteikumi un ka biežāk izmantotie saikļi ir 'to', 'in order to' un 'for'. Lielākajā daļā piemēru palīgteikumos bija iekļauta infinīta forma ('to-infinīts'). Tika secināts, ka sākotnējo nolūka palīgteikumu lietojums atkarībā no raksta avota (The Economist, Forbes) neatšķīrās.

This bachelor paper aims to investigate the use of initial purpose clauses in written Business English. In order to achieve the aim, secondary research, i.e. reviewing the past research on the relevant subjects by such authors as Quirk et al. (1985), Eastwood (2002) as well as Biber et al. (1999) and Diessel (2001; 2005), and primary research in the form of data compilation and quantitative analysis were used. The findings demonstrate that in the articles concerning business, initial purpose clauses are used less frequently than final-position ones and that the most common subordinators are 'to', 'in order to' and 'for'. In addition, the majority of initial purpose clauses were non-finite 'to-infinitive' clauses. The patterns of the clause use did not significantly differ between the sources of the articles (The Economist, Forbes).
