Latvijas arheoloģijas vēsture (līdz 1940.gadam)

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā tiek apskatīta Latvijas arheoloģijas attīstības vēsture līdz 1940. gadam. Darba mērķis ir novērtēt pētnieku ieguldījumu arheoloģijas zinātnes tapšanā un attīstībā Latvijas teritorijā līdz 1940. gadam. Pirmā daļa veltīta arheoloģijas zinātnes attīstībai Krievijas impērijas posmā. Raksturota pirmo arheoloģiskās pētniecības organizāciju izveide Latvijas teritorijā un to veikums. Apkopotas ziņas par X Viskrievijas arheoloģijas kongresa norisi un tā ietekmi uz tālāko arheoloģijas zinātnes attīstības gaitu. Sniegtas ziņas par 19. gadsimta nozīmīgāko arheoloģisko izrakumu rezultātiem. Analizēti pētnieku uzskati par Latvijas aizvēsturi līdz 1914. gadam un noskaidrota to pieeja arheoloģijas etnisko un hronoloģisko problēmu risināšanā. Otrā daļa veltīta arheoloģijas zinātnes attīstībai Latvijas Republikas laikā. Raksturota jauno arheoloģiskās pētniecības organizāciju izveide un to ietekme uz arheoloģijas zinātnes līmeņa celšanos. Izvērtēta Pieminekļu valdes darbības pieeja senlietu un pieminekļu saglabāšanas jautājumos. Sniegtas ziņas par svarīgāko arheoloģisko izrakumu rezultātiem laika posmā no 1918. līdz 1940. gadam. Apkopoti pētnieku uzskati par Latvijas aizvēsturi. Analizēta pētnieku pieeja etnisko un hronoloģisko jautājumu risināšanā, ka arī izvērtēti pirmie mēģinājumi atspoguļot Latvijas cilšu sabiedrību un to politisko struktūru.

The present bachelor paper is devoted to the history of Latvian archaeology until 1940. The aim of the historiographical work is to evaluate the researcher’s contribution to formation and development of archaeological science in Latvian territory until 1940. The first part of the work is dedicated to the development of archaeological science during the period of the Russian Empire. Establishment and performance of the first archaeological research institutions in Latvian territory is described. The information about the process of the 10th all-Russia Archaeological Congress and its influence on the further development of archaeological studies is compiled. The information on the most important archaeological excavations in 19th century is provided. The author also analyzes researcher’s opinions about the Latvian prehistory until 1914 and determines their approach to archaeology’s ethical and chronological problem solving. The second part of the work reviews the development of archaeology during the Latvian Republic times. Establishment of the new archaeological institutions is described, as well as its impact on the archaeology level rise. The author of the work also evaluates the approach of Committee for Monument Protection to artifacts and monuments preservation matters. Information about important archaeological excavations results during 1918 – 1940 is described. The bachelor paper also includes summarized researchers’ opinions about Latvian prehistory and analyzed approach of the researchers to archaeology’s ethical and chronological problem solving. Author also evaluates the first attempts to reflect the political structure of the Latvian tribal society.
