Abstract

Bakalaura darba Laulību skaita samazināšanās un ģimenes struktūras izmaiņas Japānā mērķis ir izanalizēt un apkopot galvenos iemeslus laulību skaita straujai sarukšanai, kā arī izpētīt šī procesa ietekmi uz ģimenes struktūras izmaiņām mūsdienu Japānā. Bankonka fenomens jeb ‘laulības atlikšana’ ir viens no satraucošākajiem un aktuālākajiem tematiem mūsdienu Japānas sabiedrībā, tostarp mediju vidē. Bankonka atspoguļo izmaiņas japāņu dzīvesveidā, kā arī mainīgo attieksmi pret laulību, personīgo pienākumu un ambīcijām. Darbs sastāv no četrām daļām, kurās tiek izpētīti Japānas tradicionālās ie ģimenes pamatprincipi un vēsturiskie iemesli laulību slēgšanai, ģimenes struktūra un dzimumu lomu sadalījums pēckara Japānā, attiecību veidošanas izmaiņas un tehnoloģiju ietekme, kā arī tiek veikts Austrumāzijas reģionu starpkultūru salīdzinājums, saistībā ar ģimenes struktūras un laulību slēgšanas procesu izmaiņām.

The aim of the bachelor paper The Flight from Marriage in Japan, Changes in the Family Structure is to analyze and gather the main reasons for a rapid decline in the numbers of marriages, as well as the influence on family structure changes this process causes in contemporary Japan. The phenomenon of bankonka or the ‘postponement of marriage’ is one of the most excitatory and current topics in contemporary society of Japan, including the media. Bankonka reflects on changes in Japanese life style and the floating attitude towards marriage, personal obligations and ambition. The paper consists of four parts in which the following themes are being explored: traditional Japanese ie family’s basic principles and historical reasons for getting married, the gender roles in modern Japan, changes in relationship building and the impact of technology development and lastly, a cross-cultural comparison of East Asian regions in connection of family structure and marriage pattern changes.
