Metaforizētu terminu tulkošanas problēmas medicīnas terminoloģijā – franču-latviešu valodās

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs ir veltīts metaforu analīzei medicīnas terminoloģijā, kā arī to tulkošanas īpatnībām no franču uz latviešu valodu. Darba mērķis ir izpētīt metaforizētus medicīnas terminus abās minētajās valodās, lai realizētu komparatīvo, kvalitatīvo un kvantitatīvo analīzi par visbiežāk medicīnas terminoloģijā sastopamajiem metaforu tipiem, lai apskatītu, kāda ir metaforas loma terminoloģijā, kā arī, lai noskaidrotu, kādas tulkošanas metodes izmantot to tulkošanas procesā. Lai izstrādātu korpusu, tika izmantotas vairākas tulkotas publikācijas medicīnas nozarē no franču uz latviešu valodu, medicīnisko terminu tiešsaistes vārdnīca Dictionnaire de l’Academie Française, kā arī citas medicīnas publikācijas. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no divām daļām. Teorētiskajā daļā tiek prezentēta metaforas teoriju sintēze, apskatīta metaforas loma terminoloģijā un īpaši medicīnas terminoloģijā, terminoloģijas teorija un metaforizētu terminu, kā arī metaforizētu medicīnas terminu tulkošanas īpatnības. Praktiskā daļa sastāv no izvēlēto metaforizēto medicīnas terminu analīzes. Tā veikta pēc sekojošiem aspektiem – metaforizētu medicīnas terminu tulkošana, sinonīmija, to pārstāvētie metaforu tipi un pamatdomēna, konceptu vizualizēšanas izmaiņas abās valodās, kā arī metaforas rašanās vai zušanas tendences tulkošanas procesā latviešu valodā.

The present research concerns an analysis of metaphors in the medical terminology and their translation from French to Latvian. The aim of this research is to examine metaphorical terms in medicine within the context of the two mentioned languages, in order to carry out a comparative, qualitative et quantitative analysis about the most frequent types of metaphor in medical terminology, to observe the role of metaphor in terminology and what methods to apply during the process of their translation. To elaborate our corpora, we used numerous translated publications from French into Latvian, the Dictionnaire de l’Academie Française of medical terms, as well as various publications about medicine. The Bachelor’s thesis consists of two parts. The theoretical part represents a synthesis of theories about metaphor, its role in terminology and in medical terminology in particular. It also gives an insight of terminology itself and features of translation of medical terms as well as of metaphorical medical terms. The practical part consists of an analysis of selected metaphorical medical terms from the point of view of their translation, synonymy, and the types of metaphors that they represent, the types of baseline images, and the changing of visualization of concepts in the two languages. As well as the tendencies of acquisition or loss of metaphor during the process of translation into Latvian.
