Metaforu tulkošana ES juridiskajos tekstos

Abstract

Metaforu lietojums un tulkošana juridiskos tekstos Latvijā pētīta nepietiekami. Latvija ir Eiropas Savienības dalībvalsts, un ar to saistīti arī noteikti pienākumi, kas izriet no Eiropas Savienības normatīvajos aktos noteiktā valodu režīma. Darba mērķis ir noteikt, kāda veida metaforas tiek izmantotas ES juridiskajos tekstos pētīto materiālu ietvaros un analizēt, kādas tulkošanas stratēģijas tiek izmantotas šo metaforu tulkošanā. Maģistra darbā pielietotas šādas zinātniskās metodes: zinātniskās literatūras izpētes metode, kvantitatīvās analīzes metode un kvalitatīvās analīzes metodes metaforu identificēšanai tekstā un metaforas veida noteikšanai. Darba ietvaros analizēti 14 dokumenti angļu valodā un to versijas latviešu valodā. Identificēti 123 metaforu piemēri, kas grupēti pēc to saistības ar terminoloģiju un pēc tulkojumā izmantotās stratēģijas. Pētījuma rezultātā identificētas galvenās tendences, kas saistītas metaforu saturošu terminu tulkojumiem, kā arī biežāk izmantotās tulkošanas metodes, avottekstā saskaroties ar metaforu. The use and translation of metaphors in legal texts have not been sufficiently studied in Latvia. Latvia is a member state of the European Union and certain duties are flowing from this status, including duties related to the language regime of the European Union provided in normative acts. The purpose of the mater thesis is to determine what type of metaphors are being used in EU legal texts in the framework of the studied material and to analyze what translation strategies are used to translate the identified metaphors. Scientifical methods used in the master thesis are as follows: a study of scientific literature, quantitative analysis and qualitative analysis to identify metaphors and to determine the type of metaphors. 14 documents and their versions in Latvian have been studied. 123 metaphors have been identified and categorized by the translation strategy and link to terminology. As a result of the study the main tendencies towards the translations of terms consisting of metaphor where identified as well as the most frequently used metaphor translation strategies.
