Liepājas pilsēta 1919.gada vasarā-ziemā: militārais faktors

Abstract

Liepājas, kā svarīga tirdzniecības un militāro sakaru centra, nozīme Latvijas Neatkarības kara laikā, bija īpaši augsta. Liepāja notiekošās kaujas un to ietekme bija galvenais faktors Latvijas armijas panākumiem Kurzemes atbrīvošanā no Bermonta armijas. Darba mērķis ir analizēt militāros procesus Liepājā, sākot ar jūnija beigām, kad strauji mainījās situācija, līdz decembra beigām, kad Liepāja un visa Lejaskurzeme jau bija atbrīvota. Mērķa sasniegšanai uzstādīti uzdevumi: gūt ziņas par situāciju Latvijā, sākot ar 1919. gada vasaru līdz rudenim; apskatīt un analizēt Liepājas garnizona attīstību, Sabiedroto misijas darbību un militārās sagatavošanās darbus Liepājā, 1919. gada jūlijā – oktobrī, kā arī analizēt Liepājā un tās apkārtnē notiekošos militāros procesus un norises, no 1919. gada novembra līdz decembrim. Galveno avotu bāzi veido nepublicētie arhīvu materiāli. Cīņas pie Liepājas ilga nepilnu mēnesi, kuru rezultātā tika atbrīvota visa Kurzemes teritorija.

Significance of the city of Liepaja, as an important trade and military communication center, was especially high during Latvian War of Independence. Ongoing battles in the city and their influence, was the main factor of the Latvian army success in liberating Kurland from the Bermontians. The objective of this work is to make a research of military processes in Liepaja, starting from end of the June of 1919th when the situation rapidly changed, till the end of December, when Liepaja city and Lejaskurzeme were already liberated. To reach the objective, tasks were set: to get information about situation in Latvia, in period of Summer– Autumn, 1919th; to inspect and analyse the development of Liepaja garrison and military preparation work in Liepaja from July – October, 1919th and the last - to analyse the ongoing hostility in Liepaja and its locality from the beginning of November – end of December, 1919th. Battles near Liepaja lasted less than a month and resulted in releasing territory of Kurland.
