Humoristiska efekta sasniegšanas līdzekļi Džeimsa Finna Gārnera darbā „Politkorektas vakara pasakas”

Abstract

Pētījuma darba mērķis ir noteikt humoristiska efekta sasniegšanas līdzekļus Džeimsa Finna Gārnera darbā “Politkorektas vakara pasakas”. Pētījuma jautājumi tika veidoti, lai izpētītu iemeslus, kāpēc politkorektums kļūst arvien ietekmīgāks mūsdienu masu medijos, kā arī lai noskaidrotu Džeimsa Finna Gārnera grāmatā “Politkorektas vakara pasakas” iekļauto politkorekto terminu un teikumu biežumu, un tēmu. Pie tam, viens no pētījuma jautājumiem bija noskaidrot, kā politkorektie teikumi un termini ietekmēja oriģinālo vēsti attiecīgajās oriģinālajās pasakās. Lai iegūtu empīriskos datus, tika pielietota tekstu bagātinošo pazīmju analīze, lai noteiktu politkorektās teksta daļas, teikumus un terminus Džeimsa Finna Gārnera grāmatā, kā arī lai noteiktu šo terminu un teikumu tematiku, un atbilstošo humora efektu veicinošās valodas formas. Tika pielietota absolūtā un relatīvā biežuma analīze, lai noteiktu politkorekta teksta apjomu Džeimsa Finna Gārnera grāmatā. Rezultātu analīze liecina, ka politkorektie teikumi un termini sastāda no trīsdesmit deviņiem līdz pat septiņdesmit procentus kopējā pasaku teksta, kā arī tika noteikts, ka tekstā dominē satīra, lai gan tekstā atrodas arī ironiju saturošas valodas formas. Pētījuma rezultāti var tikt izmantoti, lai veiktu turpmākus pētījumus, saistītus ar politkorektuma un tā pieaugošās ietekmes mūsdienu masu medijos izpēti.

The purpose of this research is to determine the means of achieving humorous effect in James Finn Garner's book "Politically Correct Bedtime Stories". The research questions are formed to investigate the reasons for political correctness becoming so influential in the contemporary mass media, as well as to examine the frequency and the field of politically correct terms in James Finn Garner's book "Politically Correct Bedtime Stories". In addition, one of the research questions was to find out, how the politically correct terms and sentences influenced the original message of the respective original fairy tales. To obtain the empirical data, the Rich Feature Analysis was used to determine the politically correct parts, sentences and terms in James Finn Garner's book, as well as to investigate the field and the humorous device type of these terms. Absolute and Relative Frequency Analyses were then implemented to find out, how much of the text in James Finn Garner's book was constituted by politically correct content. The results of the analysis demonstrate that the overall amount of politically correct sentences and terms ranges from thirty-nine to as much as seventy percent of the whole fairy tale text. In addition, it was determined that in this book, satire dominates over irony. The research findings and conclusions can be used to carry out further research in research in political correctness and its influence on the contemporary mass media.
