Personiskā identitāte un ētika Iana Makjuana romānos „Nepārejošā mīlestība” un „Piedošana”

Abstract

Angļu rakstnieks Ians Makjuans ir sarakstījis vairākus romānus, scenārijus un filmu adaptācijas, kā arī ticis nominēts dažādām balvām. Šī bakalaura darba mērķis ir personisko identitāti un ētiku Iana Makjuana romānos ‘Nepārejošā mīlestība’ un ‘Piedošana’. Lai sasniegtu bakalaura darba mērķi, tika izvirzīti šādi uzdevumi: abu romānu kritisko recenziju pārskats, attiecīgas teorētiskas literatūras pārskats, romānu ‘Nepārejošā mīlestība’ un ‘Piedošana’ galveno varoņu apskats. Bakalaura darba izpētes metodes ir teksta analīze un interpretācija. Šī bakalaura darba rezultāti ļāva secināt, ka lielākā daļa no apskatītajiem varoņiem gan ‘Nepārejošā mīlestībā’, gan ‘Piedošanā’ ir dinamiski, viņu personiskā identitāte un ētiskie uzskati mainījās romānu gaitā.

English writer Ian McEwan has written multiple novels, screenplays and film adaptations and has been nominated for various awards. The goal of the bachelor paper is to analyze personal identity and ethics in Ian McEwan's novels Enduring Love and Atonement. To reach the goal enabling objectives were posed: an overview of critical responses to both novels, an overview of the relevant theoretical background, examination of main characters of Enduring Love and Atonement novels. The bachelor thesis employs textual analysis and interpretation as its research method. The results of the present bachelor thesis led to the conclusion that most of the examined characters in both Atonement and Enduring Love novels are dynamic with shifting personal identities and with changing ethical views.
