Laulības ekonomiskie aspekti Džeinas Ostenas romānos

Abstract

Bakalaura darbs ir veltīts laulības tematam trijos Džeinas Ostenas romānos: ‘Lepnums un aizspriedumi’,’Prāts un jūtas’ un ‘Emma’. Pētījums analizē laulības atspoguļojumu romānos un izvērtē tās nozīmi sievietes dzīvē 18. gadsimta Lielbritānijā. Pētījuma mērķis ir noteikt vai vēlajā 18. gadsimtā un agrīnā 19. gadsimtā sievietes ekonomiskais stāvoklis un stāvoklis sabiedrībā visvairāk bija atkarīgs no laulības.Pielietotā pētījuma metode ir teksta kritiskā analīze. Apkopotie dati ļauj secināt, ka visos trijos romānos laulībai ir ļoti liela nozīme sievietes dzīvē.

The present paper is devoted to the economics of marriage in Jane Austen’s novels: ‘Pride and Prejudice’, ‘Sense and Sensibility’and ‘Emma’. The research analyses the reflection of marriage and studies its importance in women life in eighteenth century Britain. The purpose of this study is to reveal whether in the late 18th and early 19th century the wealthiness and the position of women in the society was primarily dependant on marriage. The research method is critical discourse analysis. The collected data led to the conclusion that in all three novels marriage isreflecting as being very important in women´s life.
