Naratīvs un autora identitāte mašīntulkošanā

Abstract

Šajā bakalaura darbā tiek aprakstīts naratīvs un autora identitāte mašīntulkošanā. Bakalaura darbs sastāv no 4 nodaļām: pirmajā nodaļā tiek apskatīta teorija par mašīntulkošanu un pieejamajiem tulkošanas rīkiem latviešu-somugru valodu pārī; otrajā nodaļā aprakstītas literatūrzinātnieku idejas par autora identitāti un lasītāja lomu literārajos darbos; trešajā nodaļā ar tulkošanas teorijas palīdzību tiek analizēta tulkotāja loma autora iecerētā vēstījuma nodošanā; ceturtajā nodaļā tiek novērtēts, salīdzināts un analizēts, kā Google mašīntulkotāja un cilvēka veiktais tulkojums ietekmē teksta naratīvu. Rezultāti parāda, ka mašīntulkotājs nevar aizvietot kvalitatīvus cilvēka tulkojumus, bet tas var būt labs palīgrīks tulkotājiem un cilvēkiem, kas vēlas saprast teksta aptuveno nozīmi.

This Bachelor’s thesis describes the narrative and the identity of an author in machine translations. The thesis is divided into four parts: the first part introduces the theory of the machine translation and the available translation tools in Latvian-Finno-ugric language pair; the second part gives an insight into the ideas of the literary theorists about the identity of an author and the role of the reader in the literary works; with the aid of a translation theory, the third part analyses the translator’s role in transferring the narrative in the way that the author has intended; finally, the fourth part presents the evaluation, comparison and analysis of the Google and human translator’s translations and their impact on the narrative of the text. The results show that machine translator is not able to replace high-quality human translations, but it can be a useful tool for translators and people that want to understand the approximate meaning of the text.
