Sociālie tīkli Tviteris un Facebook modernajā sabiedrībā ir plaši izplatīts globālās komunikācijas līdzeklis. Interneta komunikācijā angļu valoda tiek izmantota visbiežāk, un to lietotāju skaits ik dienas pieaug. Ziņu kanāli arī izmanto sociālos mēdijus, lai piesaistītu potenciālos lasītājus, kā arī internets piedāvā plašu auditoriju. Valoda sociālajos medijos, tiek raksturota gan rakstveida, gan mutvārdu žanra īpašības. Iespēja komunicēt visā pasaulē sniedz cilvēkiem iespēju paust savu attieksmi saistībā ar kādu noteiktu notikumu, kā arī veidot saikni par kopīgām vērtībām. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izanalizēt galvenās sociālo mēdiju valodas īpašības, kā sociālo mediju lietotāji apvienojas un izmanto valodu, lai izteiktu savu vērtējumu par Breksitu. Lai sasniegtu mērķi tika analizēta pētījuma atbilstoša literatūra un praktiskajā daļā veicot diskursa analīzi tika veikta analīze. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāja, ka tvītiem un ziņām piemīt rakstveida un mutvārdu žanra īpašības, un, ka sociālo mediju lietotāji apvienojas ap noteiktām vērtībām, tajā pašā laikā izmanto vērtējošu valodu, lai izteiktu viedokli par konkrētu tematu. The English language is used in the major part of Internet communication, and the number of its users is increasing. News channels are also using social media to attract the attention of potential readers, as well as the large audience that is available online. Language on social media is described as both written and spoken discourse, due to the fact that the language holds characteristics of both. The opportunity to communicate all around provides people with the option to express their attitude towards a certain topic, as well as bond around shared values. Present paper focuses on analyzing the main characteristics of social media language, as well as the evaluative language use and affiliation around the topic of Brexit. In order to achieve the goal of the paper, the available theoretical sources on Internet communication, language characteristics and evaluation, and affiliation were studied, and qualitative discourse analysis was performed. The analysis revealed that tweets and posts display characteristics of spoken discourse, and that users affiliate around certain values, at the same time expressing their evaluation towards a certain topic.
