Bakalaura darbā tiek aplūkots gavēņa apraksts 12.-14. gadsimta sūfiju autoru dzejā, akcentu liekot uz Dželāl ad-Dīna Rūmī dzeju. Darbs sastāv no divām daļām. Teorētiskās daļas pirmajā nodaļā tiek dota sūfisma definīcija un apskats gavēņa nozīmei sūfismā un islāmā, otrajā nodaļā tiek aplūkotas sūfiju dzejas īpatnības un trešajā nodaļā - Dželāl ad-Dīna Rūmī dzejas specifikas raksturojums. Praktiskajā daļā, kas ir ceturtā nodaļa, tiek aplūkoti un analizēti islāma mistiķu dzejas piemēri, kurā ir apraksts par gavēni. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir atklāt, kā sūfiju autori savā dzejā ir aprakstījuši gavēni, to nozīmi un ietekmējošos faktorus. The bachelor's thesis deals with description of fasting in 12-14th century Sufi poetry, with an emphasis on the poetry of Jalal al-Din Rumi. The thesis consists of two parts. The first chapter of the theoretical part gives the definition of Sufism and analyses the importance of fasting in religious practices of Sufism and Islam, the second chapter views the specifics of Sufi poetry and the third chapter explores specific characteristics of the poetry of Jalal al-Din Rumi. The practical part, which is the fourth chapter, gives and analyses examples of Islam mystic poetry featuring descriptions of or allusions to fasting. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to ascertain in what ways does Sufi poetry describe fasting, the importance of the practise of fasting and factors influencing it.
