Ekphrasis Romiešu okazionālajā dzejā

Abstract

Maģistra darba tēma ir Ekphrasis romiešu okazionālajā dzejā. Mērķis ir noskaidrot ekphrasis nozīmi Stacija okazionālās dzejas poētikā. Ekphrasis visbiežāk tiek traktēts kā artefaktu, dažādu mākslas un arhitektūras priekšmetu, izsmalcinātu sīku sadzīves priekšmetu, arī cilvēku apraksts. Par termina nozīmi ziņas sniedz sengrieķu rētorikas skolu mācību grāmatas Progymnasmata, kas sastāvēja no uzdevumiem un vingrinājumiem jauno oratoru apmācībai. Pētījumā tiek analizēts romiešu dzejnieka Stacija dzejoļu krājums Uzmetumi. Uzmetumi ir unikāls ar savu žanru romiešu literatūras sudraba laikmeta ietvaros. Maģistra darba pirmā nodaļa ir teorētiska, kurā tiek aplūkots ekphrasis jēdziens, okazionālās dzejas un sudraba laikmeta īpatnības un sniegta informācija par autoru, un viņa novatorisko darbu. Otrā nodaļa ir praktiskais pētījums. Tajā ir raksturoti un klasificēti atlasītajos dzejoļos atrastie dažādu tēmu ekphrasis piemēri, aplūkots, kā šie piemēri darbojas dzejoļu saturiskās nozīmes atklāsmē. Pētījumā secināts, ka ekphrasis ir plaši izmantoti Stacija dzejoļos, tie ir dažāda garuma un sarežģītības pakāpes apraksti, kuri pilda dzejoļu adresāta cildinājuma funkciju, kā arī atklāj Stacija dzīves laika kultūrtelpas estētiskās vērtības.

The theme of the master’s thesis is Ekphrasis in roman occasional poetry. The aim is to explore role ekphrasis’ significance in Statius’ occasional verse poetic’s. Ekphrasis most often is treated as description of artifacts, different art and architectural objects, subtile small household items and also person’s. Information on the meaning of the term is provided by the books of ancient Greek rhetoric school books Progymnasmata, which consisted of tasks and exercises for the training of new orators. In the research roman poet’s Statius poetry collection Silvae is being analyzed. Silvae is unique by its genre in the roman literature of Silver Age. The first part of this paper is theoretical and views ekphrasis concept, shows the main features of occasional poetry and literature of Silver Age and give information about the author and his collection. Second part is investigation. This part consists of description and classification of ekphrasis examples which are found in selected poems, and display how they operate in the creation of poem poetics. In the conclusion of investigation was found out that ekphrasis are widely used in the Statius’ poems, descriptions that vary in lengths and complexity perform adressee’s praise function, and reveal Statius’ cultural era’s aesthetic values as well.
