Nācijas un nacionālisma izpratne modernistu un “ilgā laika” teorētiķu darbos

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā tiek analizēta nāciju un nacionālisma izpratne, salīdzinot modernistu un „ilgā laika” teorētiķu skatījumu par nāciju un nacionālismu veidojošajiem aspektiem. Darba pirmajā nodaļā tiek sniegts ieskats par nāciju un nacionālisma izpratni modernistu darbos, tuvāk pievēršoties Ernesta Gelnera (Ernest Gellner) skatījumam. Darba otrajā nodaļā tiek salīdzināta modernistu– E. Gelnera un „ilgā laika” (longue duree) teorētiķa Entonija D. Smita (Anthony D. Smith) skatījums, kā arī abu autoru polemika par nāciju un nacionālisma veidošanos. Trešajā nodaļā skatīta nācijas un nacionālisma izpratne „ilgā laika” (longue duree) teorētiķu darbos, tuvāk pievēršoties Entonija D. Smita un Džordža Šopflīna (George Schöpflin) skatījumam par nacionālisma un nāciju veidošanos.

The Bachelor's thesis analyses the understanding of nations and nationalism by comparing the views of modernists and the longue duree theorists on the aspects of the nation and nationalism. The first chapter of the thesis gives an insight into the understanding of the nation and nationalism in modernist work, paying closer attention to Ernest Gellner's view. The second chapter of the thesis compares the views of modernists - E. Gellner and the longue duree theorist Anthony D. Smith, as well as the controversy of both authors regarding the formation of a nation and nationalism. The third chapter examines the understanding of the nation and nationalism in the works of longue duree theoreticians, paying closer attention to Anthony D. Smith and George Schöpflin's view on the emergence of nationalism and nations.
