Abstract

Edx.org izglītojošā platforma ir inovatīvs veids, kā piesaistīt studentu globālo auditoriju. Pētījuma mērķis ir izpētīt laika-aspekta formu lietojumu edX.org mācību programmās un to kursu aprakstos. Metodes pielietotas šajā darbā ir diskursa analīze un biežuma analīze, kas uzskaitīja visus laika-aspekta gadījumus. Biežuma analīze atklāja visbiežāk lietotos laikus mācību programmās un to aprakstos, kas bija vienkāršā tagadne un vienkāršā nākotne. Laika-aspektu lietojums izvēlētajās mācību programmās akcentē mācību programmu funkcijas, un izceļ kursu aprakstu raksturīgākās pazīmes. Nobeigumā var konstatēt, ka laika-aspekta formu lietojums kursu aprakstos un mācību programmās izpilda to komunikatīvo mērķi, kas ir iepazīstināt studentus ar kursu un sniegt kursa detalizētu informāciju.

Edx.org educational platform is an innovative way of how to reach the global audience of students. The goal of the current thesis is to reveal the use of tense-aspect forms in the edX course syllabuses and their course descriptions. The methods used in this research are discourse analysis and frequency analysis, using the raw frequency to count the grammatical items. The frequency analysis revealed the most common tense used in course syllabuses and descriptions are simple present and simple future. The use of tense aspect forms in the chosen course syllabuses accentuates the syllabus functions and highlights the characteristics of the selected course descriptions. To conclude, the use of the tense-aspect forms in the course descriptions and syllabuses performs their communicative aims to introduce the course and provide its details.
