Saprātīga antibakteriālo līdzekļu (AB) lietošana un infekciju kontroles aktivitātes ir galvenie pasākumi, lai ierobežotu būtiskas sabiedrības veselības problēmas, antimikrobās rezistences, izplatību. Latvijā ir liels AB patēriņš slimnīcās. Tāpēc Latvijas slimnīcās veikti AB patēriņa prevalences pētījumi. Rezultāti rāda, ka 26,8% - 38,3% pacientu saņem AB. Kopš 2003.gada pieaudzis plaša spektra AB patēriņš un ķirurģiskai profilaksei tie 55% gadījumu turpināti ilgāk kā vienu dienu. Daudzprofilu slimnīcā, pateicoties saprātīgas terapijas veicināšanas aktivitātēm, vērojamas pozitīvas tendences. Prevalences pētījumi ir nozīmīgs instruments slimnīcās, bez patēriņa uzraudzības sistēmas, bet var tikt izmantots augsta riska nodaļās detalizētai situācijas izpratnei un intervenču izvērtēšanai.
Antibakteriālo līdzekļu patēriņš, antimikrobā rezistence, prevalences pētījums Rational antibacterial (AB) therapy and infection control are the main activities to limit the spread of serious public health problem - antimicrobial resistance. There is a high consumption of AB in the hospitals in Latvia. Therefore, prevalence surveys concerning AB use have been carried out. The results show that 26.8%-38,3% of patients received AB in hospitals. The use of a broad spectrum AB in hospitals has grown and 55% of cases surgical prophylaxis has been administered for more than one day. In the multidisciplinary hospital the positive tendencies were observed after the measures to promote rational therapy. Prevalence surveys are an important tool for hospitals without drug use monitoring systems, but they can also be used in high risk departments to understand the situation in detail and to evaluate interventions.
