The study examines the use of subordinate clauses in case studies with the samples taken from the Project Management Institute. Case studies have been extensively researched from the perspective of economics; however, a linguistic perspective has seldom been applied. The theoretical part of the paper focuses on classifying subordinate clauses into groups based on the use of finite and non-finite verbs. The results of the research demonstrate that non-finite clauses are more prevalent in project management case studies as they allow for higher density and coherence within the documents. They also show that the use of finite and non-finite subordinate clauses varies significantly between their various sub-groups with some showing a very stable presence whilst others not being observed at all.
