Proteobaktēriju neklasiski sekretējamo olbaltumvielu sekvenču diskriminatīvās pazīmes

Abstract

Promocijas darbā atrastas un raksturotas no proteobaktērijām neklasiski sekretējamu (I, III, IV un VI tips) olbaltumvielu sekvenču un to terminālo fragmentu strukturālās pazīmes, no kurām diskriminantanalīzē izdalītas atsevišķas raksturīgo pazīmju (efektīvie mainīgie) kombinācijas un izveidotas statistiski būtiskas diskriminantfunkcijas, kuru precizitāte ļauj klasificēt sekrēcijas substrātus un prognozēt to atbilstību noteiktam olbaltumvielu translokācijas mehānismam. Promocijas darba rezultāti publicēti četrās zinātniskajās publikācijās un triju starptautisku konferenču materiālos. Promocijas darbs izstrādāts 2006. - 2010. gadā Latvijas Universitātes Mikrobioloģijas un Biotehnoloģijas institūtā (LU MBI) Dr.habil.biol. Pētera Zikmaņa vadībā. The promotion work deals with the comparison of the sequence structural properties between the groups of non-classically secreted proteins (types I, III, IV, VI) from proteobacteria. The selected combinations of characteristics (effective variables) maximize the differences observed within the whole and terminal sequences of proteins and the developed significant discriminant functions appear to be reliable for the classification and affiliation of the secretion substrates to a definite type of protein translocation. The results of the promotion work are published in four research papers and three international conference abstract books. The promotion research was carried out between 2006-2010 at the Institute of Microbiology and Biotechnology, the University of Latvia (LU MBI) under supervision of Dr.habil.biol. Pēteris Zikmanis.
