TV un kino filmu nosaukumu tulkošana

Abstract

Maģistra darba tēma ir “Tv un kino filmu nosaukumu tulkošana”, tā tika izvēlēta, jo autors bieži apjūk, ieraugot piedāvātos ārzemju filmu un seriālu nosaukumu tulkojumus, un vēlētos, iedziļināties procesā, kas tos rada. Tēma ir aktuāla, jo ārzemju popkultūra tiek patērēta visos sabiedrības slāņos un no tās mūsdienās ir grūti izvairīties. Šī pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt Latvijā izrādīto filmu un TV serialu nosaukumu tulkojumus, lai noskaidrotu labākos risinājumus. Pētijumā tika izmantota kontentanalīzes pētīšanas metode. Darbu veido četras nodaļas. Pirmajā tiek apkopoti teorētiskie materiāli par filmu un seriālu nosaukumu funkcijām. Otrajā tiek analizētas izvēlētās tulkošanas metodes. Trešajā tiek definētas izteiktākās grūtības, ar kurām tulkotājs saskarās nosaukumu tulkošanā. Ceturtajā daļā tiek analizēti kontentanalīzes rezultāti. Darba noslēgumā tiek izdarīti secinājumi un piedāvāti risinājumi. Šī maģistra darba mērķauditorija ir tulkotāji, kuriem jāsaskarās ar nosaukumu tulkošanu. Pētījuma rezultāti norāda, ka pielietotās tulkošanas metodes seriālos un filmās ir ļoti līdzīgas, bet dažādiem žanriem gan ir savas specifikas. Tāpat arī pētījuma rezultāti norāda uz lielāku radošo brīvību, kāda atļauta tulkotājam strādājot ar seriālu, nevis filmu nosaukumiem. Filmu un seriālu nosaukumu tulkošana ir mākslinieciskas dabas darbs ar komerciālu pieskaņu. Ir nosaukumi, kuriem nepieciešama radoša un unikāla pieeja. Reti ir gadījumi, kad visas nosaukumu funkcijas iespējams pārnest no AV uz MV.

Master's Thesis " Translation of TV and Cinema Film Titles" is topical because foreign pop culture is consumed in all layers of society and is difficult to avoid today. The aim of this study is to analyze translations of TV series and film titles in Latvia to find the best solutions. The method of content analysis was used in this study. The work consists of four chapters. The first is a collection of theoretical materials on functions of film and TV series titles. The second one compiles the different translation methods. The third defines the most serious difficulties that a translator faces in translating titles. The fourth part analyzes the results of the content analysis. At the end of the thesis conclusions and solutions are made. The target audience for this master's thesis is translators who have to deal with the translation of titles. The results of the research show that the applied translation methods in TV series and films are very similar, but different genres have their own specifics. Similarly, the results of the study point to the greater creative freedom allowed by the translator when working with TV series rather than film titles. Translation of film and TV series titles is a work of artistic nature with a commercial touch. There are titles that need a creative and unique approach. There are rarely cases when all titles functions can be transferred from source language to target language.
