The subject of the bachelor's thesis is “The Origin, Development, and Collapse of the Islamic State Terrorist Organization.” The aim of the author in is to find and understand the reasons for the emergence and development of the Islamic state phenomenon. In the third chapter the aim is to evaluate the role of apocalyptic theme in the foundations of the Islamic State's ideology and propaganda, to look at extremist literature, by which most likely, the ideological core of the Islamic state has been affected. In the fourth chapter the aim of the author is to evaluate the apocalyptic and social causes of the unprecedented recruitment phenomenon of Islamic state combatants and view the role of female members and children in the Islamic state structure. The final part of the thesis examines the probability of transformation of the Islamic state due to the territorial losses caused by the international coalition, which lead to the collapse of the caliphate. The author concludes that the collapse of the Islamic state has not happened fully, but only partly. Caliphate has ceased to exist, but the Islamic state, as an organization, continues to subsist.
