Abstract

Anotācija “Municipālās heraldikas veidošanās un attīstība Latvijā 13.-20.gs.” Promocijas darba “Latvijas municipālās heraldikas veidošanās un attīstība. 13.-20.gs.” uzdevums ir apkopot gan jau publicētos, gan nepublicētos arhīvu materiālus ar mērķi atbilstoši mūsdienu vēstures zinātnes prasībām atspoguļot līdz šim populārā līmenī pētīto Latvijas municipālo ģerboņu veidošanos, attīstību, pielietojumu un nozīmi. Darba izstrādē izmantoti Latvijas Valsts vēstures arhīva, Latvijas Valsts arhīva un Heraldikas komisijas dokumenti, kā arī Rīgas Vēstures un kuģniecības muzeja un Latvijas Nacionālās bibliotēkas Retumu nodaļas materiāli. Nozīmīgu avotu grupu veido arī likumdošanas akti. Darba struktūru veido septiņas nodaļas, kurās atspoguļota municipālo ģerboņu veidošanās un attīstība, simbolikas izvēle un ģerboņu lietošana un likumdošana. Pirmā nodaļa veltīta vispārīgiem ģerboņu un heraldikas veidošanās jautājumiem Rietumeiropā, savukārt sešas nākamās nodaļas veidotas, balstoties uz hronoloģisko principu. Atslēgas vārdi: ģerbonis, municipālā heraldika, Latvija, viduslaiku vēsture, jauno un jaunāko laiku vēsture, mūsdienu vēsture.

Annotation The Formation and Development of the Municipal Heraldry in Latvia from the 13th century until 20th century The Ph.D. thesis aim to characterize the constitution, development, usage and meaning of the coats of arms of Latvia State, towns and cities, and regions (or municipal heraldry) on the basis of the collected both published sources and unpublished archive materials. These issues have been studied only on the popular level up to now, so this research will attempt to follow the development of the municipal heraldry in Latvia according to the contemporary scientific framework and approach of history. The research is based on the materials from Latvia State History Archive, Latvia State Archive, the Commission of Heraldry and Museum of History of Riga and Navigation. The thesis consist of seven chapters including a chapter about origins and development of heraldry in Europe while the following six chapters cover different chronological periods in the development of the municipal coats of arms in Latvia from the Middle Ages until the late 20th century.
