Latvijas lauku baznīcu attēlojums J.K. Broces zīmējumos un aprakstos

Abstract

Darba pētījums veltīts J. K. Broces darbā “Zīmējumi un apraksti” attēlotajām baznīcām laika posmā no 1774. līdz 1818. gadam, analizējot Broces sniegto informāciju, kā arī salīdzinot to ar zinātnisko literatūru un NKMP arhīva materiāliem. Darba mērķis ir novērtēt Broces fiksēto informāciju par Latvijas lauku baznīcām kā vēsturisku avotu. Darba sākumā apskatīta informācija par politisko, sociālo un saimniecisko telpu Vidzemes guberņā noteiktajā laika periodā, kā arī apskatīta Broces biogrāfija pieminekļu pētniecības spektrā. Trešajā nodaļā analizēta gan Broces, gan literatūras un avotu sniegtā informācija par pētāmajām baznīcām. Darba rezultāti apliecina, ka Broces darbs ir nozīmīgs avots Latvijas evaņģēliski luteriskās baznīcas pētniecībā, sniedzot vienreizēju informāciju gan par baznīcu vēsturi, gan arhitektūru.

Study examines churches represented in Broce’s work “Drawings and descriptions” from 1775 to 1818. It analyses the information provided by Broce and compares it with literature and archived materials. Purpose of this study is to assess the information by Broce on churches found in Latvian countryside as a historic source. The beginning of this study covers the critical review of political, social and economical aspects of Vidzeme; biography of Broce, in the context of his interest in researching monuments. The last chapter examines the information on the churches found in the work of Broce, literature and other historic sources. The research findings conclude that Broce’s work is an imperative historic source in research of Latvian Lutheran churches, presenting unique information about the history of the churches, as well as architecture.
