Maģistra darba mērķis ir apzināt, apkopot un izpētīt komunistiskajā režīmā 1940. – 1953. gadā politiski represēto personu atmiņu mantojumu Latvijā, tā veidošanos, apjomu un saturu, kā arī aplūkot līdz 1991. gadam atmiņās atspoguļoto vēstījumu par režīma represijām. Pētījumā hronoloģiski aplūkota represiju pret Latvijas iedzīvotajiem norises gaita, veidi un apjoms LPSR un PSRS attālos Ziemeļu un Sibīrijas apgabalos, mirušo, atbrīvoto un Latvijā dzīvojošo skaits. Raksturotas politiski represēto personu atmiņas, apkopota informācija par atmiņu krājumiem un to krātuvēm. The aim of the master's thesis “The Heritage of memories in Latvia of Communist Regime's Politically Repressed Persons during 1940 – 1953” is to identify, compile and study the heritage of memories of communist regime politically repressed persons during 1940 – 1953, the formation, volume and contents of this heritage and research what the memories tell about regime's repressions until year 1991. The research chronologically examines the course, types and extent of repressions against the inhabitants of Latvia in the LSSR and the far areas of North and Siberia regions of USSR, the number of deaths, released persons and those living in Latvia. The study describes the memories of politically repressed persons and compiles information on memory collections and repositories.
