Abstract

Promocijas darbs „Kursenieku etniskā kopiena XIX gadsimta beigās – XX gadsimta pirmajā pusē: skaits, izvietojums, vēstures procesi“ ir izstrādāts Latvijas Universitātes Vēstures un filozofijas fakultātes Latvijas un Austrumeiropas jauno un jaunāko laiku vēstures katedrā no 2006. līdz 2011. gadam. Autors: Krišs Kapenieks. Zinātniskais vadītājs: LU asociētais profesors Dr. hist. Ēriks Jēkabsons. Promocijas darbs sastāv no ievada, avotu un literatūras apskata, trijām nodaļām, secinājumiem, avotu un literatūras saraksta un trijiem pielikumiem. I nodaļā sniegts ieskats kursenieku etniskās kopienas attīstībā līdz XIX gadsimta beigām. II nodaļā raksturota kursenieku etniskā kopiena un analizēti tās vēstures procesi no XIX gadsimta beigām līdz 1923. gada sākumam. III nodaļā apskatīti procesi kursenieku etniskajā kopienā no 1923. gada līdz Otrā pasaules kaŗa beigām 1945. gadā.

The doctoral thesis „Curonian Ethnic Community at the End of 19th Century – 1st Half of 20th Century: Number, Location, Historical Processes“ has been written at the Chair of Modern and Contemporary History of Latvia and Eastern Europe of the Faculty of History and Philosophy, University of Latvia in 2006–2011. Author: Krišs Kapenieks. Supervisor: Ēriks Jēkabsons, Doctor of History, associate professor at the Chair of Modern and Contemporary History of Latvia and Eastern Europe of the Faculty of History and Philosophy, University of Latvia. The doctoral paper is composed of an introduction, review of sources and literature, three chapters, conclusion, index of sources and literature and three appendices. Chapter 1 provides the review of development of Curonian ethnic community until the end of 19th century. Chapter 2 characterizes the Curonian ethnic community from the end of 19th century until the beginning of 1923 and analyzes its historical processes. Chapter 3 analyzes processes in the Curonian ethnic community from 1923 until the end of the World War II in 1945.
