Atslēgvārdi: fonētika, izruna, vācu valoda, interference, spāņu valoda, kontrastīva analīze In this bachelor’s thesis phonetic and graphemic difficulties for Spanish German philology students are studied. The goal is to find out through survey what difficulties are encountered by Spanish German philology students in realisation of certain letters and letter combination at the University of Murcia in Spain and, based on the obtain results, to develop a new teaching method that would help solving these problems. From the obtained results the main problems of pronunciation were determined, and it was concluded that the main reason for the phonetic and graphemic difficulties was the interreference of the Spanish that significantly influenced the pronunciation in German. After reviewing the theory and analysing the results, an alternative method was developed that could improve the teaching of pronunciation to Spanish students. The results obtained in the research can also be applied in Latvia because Spanish German students, with the help of Erasmus + program, are given the opportunity to attend German classes at the University of Latvia in which the lecturers can use the results obtained in this paper.
