LGBT terminoloģijas atveide latviešu valodā

Abstract

LGBT kopiena veido nozīmīgu mūsdienu sabiedrības daļu, taču par kopienas lietoto terminoloģiju Latvijā tiek maz runāts. Maģistra darba “LGBT terminoloģijas atveide latviešu valodā” mērķis ir saprast, cik attīstīta ir LGBT terminoloģija latviešu valodā. Pētījuma uzdevums ir aplūkot darba ietvaros izstrādāto LGBT glosāriju un saprast, cik lielai daļai analizējamo vienību ir latviskie ekvivalenti, cik daudz ir bezekvivalenta leksikas, kādas stratēģijas tiek izmantotas atveidē, ar kādām grūtībām var saskarties terminrades procesā un kādi ir iespējamie risinājumi. Pētījuma rezultāti apliecina nepieciešamību izstrādāt terminoloģijas risinājumus LGBT terminoloģijas jomā. Lielu daļu LGBT terminoloģijas veido bezekvivalenta leksika un lielākā daļa atveidoto vienību ir aizguvumi. Terminu šobrīd ir maz, tomēr ir vērojamas LGBT terminoloģijas attīstības iespējas.

LGBT community makes significant part of modern society, however, terminology used within the community is rarely discussed in Latvia. The aim of the Master’s Thesis “Rendering of LGBT Terminology in Latvian Language” is to understand, how developed LGBT terminology in Latvian language is. The purpose of research is to analyze LGBT glossary developed within the framework of this thesis and to understand, how many units of analysis have got Latvian equivalents, how many are nonequivalent, which strategies can be applied to rendering, what challenges might be faced and which are the possible solutions. The results of the research confirm the necessity for terminological solutions in LGBT terminology. Many LGBT terms have no equivalents in Latvian language, whereas the largest part of rendered units are loan words. There are very few LGBT terms, but at the same time there is development potential.
