Globālie ceļotāji Deivida Mitčela romānā "Ghostwritten"

Abstract

Globalizācija ir sarežģīta un unikāli liela mēroga parādība cilvēces vēsturē, kas radīja radikālas izmaiņas daudzos mūsu dzīves aspektos. Literatūra, kas koncentrējas uz globalizācijas tēmām, sniedz unikālo kritisko ieskatu šajā parādībā,. Tādēļ šī pētījuma mērķis ir analizēt globalizācijas ietekmi uz dažādiem dzīves aspektiem Deivida Mičela romānā “Ghostwritten”. Norādītā mērķa sasniegšanai tika izmantotas kvalitatīvas tekstuālās, vēsturiskās un socioloģiskās analīzes metodes. Pētījuma rezultāti atklāj, kā romāns atspoguļo globalizācijas ietekmi uz individuālajām identitātēm, ekonomiku, kultūru un starp-personu attiecībām. Tika secināts, ka romāns piedāvā daudzpusīgu un kritisku globalizācijas atspoguļojumu.

Globalization is a complex and uniquely large-scale phenomenon in human history that brought radical changes in many aspects of our lives. Literature focused on themes of globalization provides a unique view on, and critique of, the phenomenon. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyze the representation of the effects of globalization on various facets of life in David Mitchell’s novel 'Ghostwritten'. Qualitative textual, historical and sociological analysis methods were used to reach the stated goal. The results of the research reveal how the novel represents effects of globalization on individual identities, economy, culture and interpersonal relationships. A conclusion was made that the novel offers a multi-faceted and critical representation of globalization.
