Otrā pasaules kara civiliedzīvotāju upuru piemiņas vietu izveide Latvijā: Salaspils memoriāla piemērs (1958-2018).

Abstract

Mūsdienās par aktuālu tēmu ir kļuvusi Otrā pasaules kara upuru piemiņa un tās simboliskais atainojums pieminekļos. Salaspils memoriāls ir piemiņas vieta cilvēkiem, kas gāja bojā lielākajā nacistu ierīkotajā nometnē Latvijas teritorijā, šķietami kļūstot par hrestomātisku piemēru tam, kā tika īstenota piemiņas politika Padomju Savienībā. Pēc Latvijas neatkarības atgūšanas šīs piemiņas politikas sekas ir novērojamas noteiktas kolektīvās atmiņas ietvaros un piemiņas rituālu transformācijās. Maģistra darba mērķis ir izpētīt Salaspils memoriāla izveidi; aplūkot komemorāciju, piemiņas rituālus padomju un mūsdienu laiktelpas un Salaspils memoriāla kā piemiņas vietas kontekstā, kā arī aktualizēt administratīvo problemātiku saistībā ar pieminekļa ilgtspējību.

Nowadays, the topic of commemoration of the victims of the Second World War and its symbolic depiction in monuments has become more pressing. Salaspils Memorial Ensemble commemorates those who perished in the major Nazi Germany camp in Latvia, therefore becoming a typical example of implementation of commemoration policy in the Soviet Union. After the Restoration of Independence of the Republic of Latvia the consequences of such policy of commemoration are evident in certain settings of collective memory and within transformations of public rituals. The goal of the research is to examine the establishment of the Salaspils Memorial Ensemble, to look at the commemoration and public rituals within the context of both nowadays and the Soviet era and the Salaspils Memorial Ensemble as the commemorative site, as well as to point out administrative issues associated with the sustainability of the monument.
