Templiešu ordeņa attiecības ar laicīgo varu viduslaikos

Abstract

Templiešu ordenis ir viens no pirmajiem garīgi militārajiem bruņinieku ordeņiem, kuri uzplauka Krusta karu laikā. Divsimt gadu laikā templiešu ordenis bija guvis lielus sasniegumus, bet to pamatā vienmēr atradās labvēlīgās attiecības ar laicīgās varas pārstāvjiem – karaļiem un baroniem, hercogiem un grāfiem. Pateicoties tādiem valdniekiem, kā Filips IV, Edvards II, Balduins II un citiem mazākiem augstmaņiem no Jeruzalemes līdz Anglijai, Templiešu ordenis bija spējis izveidot savu Svētās Zemes sargātāju reputāciju. Sarežģītāk veidojās templiešu attiecības ar laicīgo varu Francijā un Anglijā, kur ordenis saņēma gan šo valstu valdnieku atbalstu, gan arī tā darbība nonāca pretrunā ar viņu īstenoto politiku. The Templar Order is one of the first holy military orders that had formed in the time of the Crusades. In a span of two hundred years, the order achieved many things, but at the foundation of them all were the good relations with the secular power - kings and barons, dukes and counts. With the aid of such leaders as Philip IV, Edward II, Baldwin II and other smaller rullers from Jerusalem to England, the Templar were able to make their reputation as the guardians of the Holy Land. More complicated were the relations between France and England, where the Order was not only gaining support from the local rulers, but also coming to odds with their interests. With the available information and sources, regarding the Templar origins and later development, the subject of the study are the development of relations between the Templar Order and secular powers as seen in the Holy Land, France and England.
