Dzintara apstrāde Siliņupes neolīta apmetnē

Abstract

Latvijas teritorija ietilpst dzintara atradnēm bagātā zonā, kas stiepjas no Jitlandes pussalas līdz Baltijas jūras dienvidaustrumu krastam. Kopš vidējā neolīta var runāt par dzintara apstrādi Latvijas apmetnēs, arī vidējā neolīta Siliņupes apmetnē. Izrakumos šeit iegūta liela dzintara kolekcija. Rotu formas, neregulāri un trapecveida piekariņi, pogveida un garenās krelles, raksturīgas Latvijas piejūras neolīta apmetnēm. Plašāka izpēte par dzintara apstrādi Siliņupē nav veikta. Šajā darbā izvirzīts mērķis raksturot dzintara apstrādes procesus Siliņupes apmetnē, analizējot izrakumos iegūto kolekciju. Priekšmetus iedalot pēc formas un apstrādes pakāpes un balstoties uz literatūras analīzi, secināts, ka Siliņupē, iespējams, dzintara apstrādes iemaņas nav bijušas tik attīstītas kā lielajās apstrādes darbnīcās Lubānā un Sārnatē.

Present-day Latvia belongs to an area rich in amber deposits stretching from the Jutland Peninsula to the south-eastern shore of the Baltic Sea. From the Middle Neolithic, amber processing took place on Latvian settlement sites, including the Middle Neolithic Siliņupe site, where excavation has yielded a large amber collection. The different forms of amber jewellery – irregular and trapezoidal pendants, button-shaped and elongated beads – are characteristic of Latvian coastal Neolithic settlements. Detailed research on amber processing at Siliņupe has not been performed before, and this work aims to describe amber processing on this site by analyzing the amber inventory obtained in excavation. Classification of the amber objects according to form and degree of processing and analysis of the literature suggests amber processing skills may have been less developed at Siliņupe than in the large workshops of Lubāns and Sārnate.
