| dc.description.abstract | Šī promocijas darba mērķis ir izpētīt, kā uzņēmumiem būtu jānosaka darbības joma, jāizstrādā un sekmīgi jāīsteno piegādes ķēdes vadība, lai sasniegtu augstu konkurētspēju, kā arī, kādi kritiski faktori nosaka to, lai piegādes ķēdes vadība nodrošinātu konkurētspēju. Parametri PĶV ietekmes novērtēšanai tika noteikti, balstoties literatūras un esošo pētījumu, kā arī situācijas izpētes analīzē, kuras rezultāti apkopoti visaptverošā konceptuālā modelī, kas sasaista īpašības, kas raksturīgas orientācijai uz klientu, piegādes ķēdes vadības briedumam (stratēģisks skatījums uz piegādes ķēdes vadību un operatīvs skatījums uz piegādes ķēdes vadību), līderībai un piegādes ķēdes rezultativitātei (to raksturo kvalitatīva darbība, finanšu rādītāji un klientu apmierinātība), ar mērķiem, kas izvirzīti uzņēmuma konkurētspējai.
Lauka pētījums tika veikts ar interviju starpniecību, izmantojot daļēji strukturētas anketas, un aptverot Eiropas rūpniecības nozares. Mainīgie indikatori tika vērtēti, izmantojot faktoru analīzes metodi, lai iegūtu konceptuālā modeļa sastāvdaļas. Pats modelis tika pārbaudīts ar 14 hipotēžu palīdzību, kas tika izvirzītas par attiecībām starp modeļa sastāvdaļām. Attiecības starp izvēlētām modeļa sastāvdaļām tika arī analizētas, izmantojot daudzfaktoru regresijas analīzi. Analīze un sintēze ļāva apstiprināt izstrādāto konceptuālo modeli ar datiem, kas tika iegūti 34 intervijās, un ļāva noskaidrot virkni piegādes ķēdes vadības faktoru, kas nosaka šajā pētījumā iekļauto rūpniecības nozaru konkurētspēju noteiktā vidē. Šis pētījums arī apstiprināja, ka starp piegādes ķēdes vadību, tās pamatelementiem un uzņēmumu konkurētspēju pastāv spēcīga saistība. Izstrādātā modeļa sastāvdaļas lielā mērā ļauj skaidrot PĶV ietekmi uz uzņēmumu konkurētspēju.
Tādējādi modelis ir noderīgs, lai uzņēmumos varētu veikt piegādes ķēdes analīzi un piegādes ķēdes izstrādi. Uzņēmumu konkurētspēju visspēcīgāk ietekmē vadība - līderība un uzticamība, piegādes ķēdes briedums, un īpaši - stratēģisks skatījums uz PĶV. Šī pētījuma rezultāti sniedz principiāli jaunu skatījumu uz to, kā PĶV ietekmē uzņēmuma konkurētspēju; ietekme lielākā mērā ir stratēģiska un atkarīga no vadības, nekā atkarīga no dažādām praksēm un procesiem. Papildus minētajiem faktoriem panākumus būtiski ietekmē finanšu datu izmantošana un piegādes ķēžu vadītāju rīcībā esošo finanšu datu pieejamība, stratēģijas formalizēšana un klientu vajadzības. Autora galvenie ieteikumi vadības prakses jomā norāda - lai PĶV tiktu sekmīgi ieviesta un pozitīvi ietekmētu konkurētspēju, to būtu jāiekļauj stratēģiskajā vadībā un jāsniedz tai pilnīgs uzņēmuma augstākās vadības atbalsts.

| dc.description.abstract | The economic development of globalization has forced companies to look for more effective ways to coordinate the flow of material, information and money into and out of the company and between companies. Companies are striving for ways to achieve and sustain competitive advantage. Today’s business challenges are rapidly changing factors like the price of oil and other commodities, natural disasters (e.g. earthquakes), and political turmoil imposing huge volatility and uncertainty on an organization’s supply chain. One of the approaches to cope with the challenges is to manage the entire supply chain end to end to reduce costs and improve performance, creating higher levels of competitiveness and sustaining long term business success for all stakeholders involved. This can be achieved if Supply Chain Management (SCM) is fully aligned with corporate strategy as part of strategic management. The purpose of this dissertation is to investigate through field studies how SCM affects the competitiveness of a company. The parameters for the evaluation of SCM impact on competitiveness were defined by a study of the literature and existing case studies and aggregated in a comprehensive conceptual model that relates customer orientation, SCM maturity (strategic view of SCM and operative view of SCM) leadership elements, supply chain performance in terms of qualitative performance, financial criteria and customer satisfaction to competitive objectives. The field study was conducted by interview via a semi-structured questionnaire and covers European industry sectors. Through the use of factor analysis, the research variables were analyzed in terms of loading of the components of the conceptual model. The model itself was tested by 14 sub-hypotheses about the relations among the model components. The relations among the selected components of the model were also conducted by a multiple regression analysis. The analysis and synthesis validated the developed conceptual model and provided a set of SCM factors that are causal for competitiveness in a specific environment for the industrial sectors covered by the study. The study confirms that there is a strong correlation between supply chain management and its building blocks and the competitiveness of companies. The components of the model explain the SCM impact on competitiveness of business organizations to a high degree. Thus the model is highly valuable for managerial use by organizations for supply chain analysis and supply chain design. SCM must be part of strategic management to be supported- | en_US |
