Abstract
The purpose of this thesis is to analyse the systemic issues revolving around preferential trade activity in the World Trade Organization. As a significant part of the system is based upon the principle of good faith, an objective view has to be formed upon the reliability of the current system and its ability to effectively accomplish its purpose. The research question is whether the aims and regulations of preferential trade have been consistent with the accomplishment of the system thus far, the policy of categorization and plan of action of GSP schemes of the EU & US.
