Kara uztvere Itālijas renesanses sabiedrībā: Florences republikas piemērs

Abstract

Bakalaura darbā “Kara uztvere Itālijas renesanses sabiedrībā: Florences republikas piemērs” pētīti 13. līdz 16. gadsimta avoti nolūkā izzināt Itālijas renesanses laika sabiedrības attieksmi pret karu. Bakalaura darba mērķis ir izpētīt humānisma ideālu un situācijas diktētu pragmatisku apsvērumu attiecības Itālijas renesanses sabiedrības priekšstatos par karu, balstoties uz florenciešu autoru sacerējumiem. Rezultātā noskaidrots, ka renesanses laika Florencē pragmatiskā attieksme pret karu izriet no humānisma ideāliem, kuri iedvesmo florenciešus iesaistīties karadarbībā, saskaņā ar pilsoņu patriotismu aizstāvēt tēvzemi un piekopt vērienīgu ārpolitiku. Vienlaikus pastāvēja šai situācijai pretrunīga attieksme, kas izpaudās ar neiesaistīšanos riskantos karos un gļēvulību kaujas laukā.

The Bachelor’s thesis “Perception of war in the Italian Renaissance society: example of Florentine Republic” examined sources of the 13th to the 16th century, in order to explore the attitudes of the Italian Renaissance society towards war. The aim of the bachelor's thesis is to explore the relationship between the ideals of humanism and pragmatic considerations dictated by the situation in the Italian Renaissance society about the war, based on Florentine authors’ reflections on war. As a result, it was found that the pragmatic attitude of Florentine society towards war stems from the ideals of humanism that inspire Florentines to engage in warfare, to defend fatherland in accordance with the civic patriotism and to pursue an ambitious foreign policy. At the same time, there was a conflicting attitude in this situation, which was manifested by a lack of involvement in risky wars and cowardice on the battlefield.
