Āraišu un Bricu ezeru mikroreģionu telpiskā struktūra no 5. līdz 13. gadsimtam

Abstract

Šajā pētījumā ar ĢIS vidi sasaistītā datubāzē apkopota pieejamā informācija par dažādām arheoloģiskajām liecībām Āraišu un Bricu ezeru apkārtnē. Dzelzs laikmeta otrajā pusē abos ezeros savas ezermītnes bija ierīkojuši latgaļi un to rašanās saistīta ar šīs etnolingvistiskās grupas ekspansiju. Kritiski pārvērtējot un strukturējot datubāzēs apkopoto informāciju, tā interpretēta izmantojot ainavu arheoloģijā un reģionālo pētījumu praksēs balstītu pieeju. Rezultātā rekonstruēta abu ezeru mikroreģionu telpiskā struktūra dzelzs laikmetā un iezīmētas to robežas, kas liecina par tiem kā nelielām, nukleārām, vienas kopienas apdzīvotām telpām. Analizējot arī telpu ap mikroreģioniem, pārvērtēti historiogrāfijā dominējošie uzskati par ezermītņu funkcijām, tām piedēvēto centralitāti un to lomu plašāka reģiona apdzīvotības kontekstā.

In this study, the various available types of archaeological evidence about the vicinity of Āraišu and Bricu Lakes is collected in a GIS database. In the second half of the Iron Age, lake-dwellings were erected in both lakes by the Latgallians and they are connected with the expansion of this ethnolinguistic group. Critically reevaluating the information collected in the databases, it has been interpreted using approaches based in landscape archaeology and regional studies. As a result, the spatial structure of the two microregions in the Iron Age has been reconstructed and their borders marked, indicating them as small, nucleated, single-community populated spaces. Analysing the space around the micro-regions, the dominating views about the function of lake-dwellings and the centrality attributed to them have been critically reappreised.
