Covid-19 ietekme uz mutiskās tulkošanas nozari

Abstract

2020. gada pavasarī pasauli pārņēma globāla pandēmija, kas ietekmēja ikvienu un apstādināja darbu daudzās nozarēs. Pandēmija viennozīmīgi ietekmēja arī mutiskos tulkus, jo konferences un publiski pasākumi, kuros būtu nepieciešami tulki, tika apstādināti uz nenoteiktu laiku. Maģistra darba “Covid-19 ietekme uz mutiskās tulkošanas nozares” mērķis ir noskaidrot kādu ietekmi pandēmija atstājusi uz tulkošanas nozari, darbu organizēšanu un mutiskajiem tulkiem Latvijā un pasaulē. Kādas varētu būt ilgtermiņa sekas uz nozari un, kādas ir nākotnes prognozes. Darba rezultātā tika noskaidrots, ka tulki gada laikā ir adaptējušies jaunajiem darba apstākļiem, taču neuzskata, ka esošie risinājumi kļūs par praksi pēc pandēmijas.

In the spring of 2020, the world was swept away by a global pandemic that affected everyone and halted work in many sectors. The pandemic, undoubtedly, affected interpreters, as conferences and public events requiring interpreters were suspended indefinitely. The main objective of the master thesis “The Impact of Covid-19 on Interpreting sector” is to find out how the global pandemic has impacted the language sector and work of interpreters in Latvia and globally. What will be the long-term consequences for the interpreting sector and what are the future predictions? Results of this research show that interpreters have adapted to the new order caused by pandemic, but they do not believe that the current solutions will be a common practice also after the pandemic.
