The focus of this bachelor thesis is the analysis of the scope of the right to free movement of goods and the free movement of services as well as the restrictions on their exercise as well as the legal rationale for their restriction under the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU). This is achieved through the analysis of the relevant articles of the TFEU and the case-law of the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU). The research reveals that the right to free movement of goods and services is not absolute and is subject to limitations that have the aim of protecting societal security and welfare.en_US
