Pētījumā tiek analizēta postmodernisma literatūra, īpašu uzmanību pievēršot realitātei un ilūzijai Ernesta Klaina romānā “Spēle Sākas” un tā ekranizācijā. Teorētisko avotu analīze sniedz ieskatu postmodernisma perioda definēšanā un dažādās tendencēs realitātes un ilūzijas attēlošanai literatūrā un kino. Empīrisko daļu veido realitātes un ilūzijas konceptu analīze abos mediju veidos, pievēršot uzmanību hiperrealitātes, estētiskās ilūzijas, stilizācijas un dažādiem realitātes atveidošanas teorētiskajiem pamatiem. Pētījuma rezultātā secināts, ka gan romānā, gan tā ekranizācijā ilūzijas tiek demonstrētas ar spēles OASIS platformas palīdzību, savukārt realitāte galvenokārt tiek attēlota ar uzņēmuma IOI un nelabvēlīgu dzīves apstākļu palīdzību. The current paper deals with the analysis of postmodern literature, placing the main focus on the analysis of reality and illusion in Ernest Cline’s novel Ready Player One and its screen adaption. The review of theoretical sources has revealed the complex nature of postmodernism period and various tendencies in the representation of reality and illusion in fiction and film. The empirical part of the paper deals with the analysis of reality and illusion concepts in both media forms, putting the focus on theories concerning hyperreality, aesthetic illusion, pastiche and various theories on reality attainment. The results of the empirical part demonstrate that illusion concept in Cline’s work Ready Player One is demonstrated through the platform of OASIS, whereas reality is mainly depicted through the company IOI and the living conditions in the world.
