Abstract

Bakalaura darbā “Sieviešu tēli rakstnieces Navālas as Saadāvī darbā “Arābu sievietes apslēptā seja”” tiek pētīti sieviešu tēli, par kuriem stāsta ēģiptiešu feministe, ārste, rakstniece N. as Saadāvī. Darbs ietver ievadu, trīs nodaļas un desmit apakšnodaļas, secinājumus, kopsavilkumu, literatūras sarakstu un vienu pielikumu. Darbā tiek izmantota biogrāfiskā un feminisma kritikas metode. Darba mērķis ir N. as Saadāvī dokumentālajā romānā aprakstīto sieviešu tēlu un to sievišķīgās pašapziņas, sievišķīgās patības izpēte tā laika Ēģiptes sociālās realitātes kontekstā: kā sievietes tiek aprakstītas, kādās kategorijās iedalītas, ar kādām problēmām tās saskaras, kāds liktenis tām atvēlēts un kā viņas pašas savu dzīvi uztver un atstāsta. Darba uzdevumi ir izpētīt N. as Saadāvī darba “Arābu sievietes apslēptā seja” saikni ar rakstnieces biogrāfiju, atrast sieviešu tēlu iespējamos prototipus rakstnieces dzīvē; apskatīt N. as Saadāvī darbā ar sieviešu tēlu un dzīvesstāstu palīdzību aprakstītās Ēģiptes sabiedrības problēmas, saistot tās ar sieviešu tēlu raksturīpašībām, sabiedriskajām lomām un likteni, it īpaši patriarhālo tradīciju un 20. gs. jaunievedumu sadursmes apstākļos; izpētīt N. as Saadāvī darbā attēloto sieviešu tēlu sievišķīgo pašapziņu, sievišķīgo patību, kas izpaužas šo sieviešu paustajā nostājā pret Ēģiptes sabiedrības problēmām; apskatīt N. as Saadāvī darba ietekmi uz Ēģiptes sieviešu pašapziņu 20. gs. otrajā pusē, t.sk., Ēģiptes/arābu feminismu. N.as Saadāvī izveidojusi savu stāstījumu pirmajā personā, ņemot vērā personīgo pieredzi darbā ar sievietēm un balstoties uz faktiem, kuriem pati rakstniece bija lieciniece. Darba rezultātā sieviešu tēli tika iedalīti dažādās kategorijās, ņemot vērā viņu attieksmi pret dažādām grūtībām, kā arī tika veikta rūpīga viņu personību un stāstu analīze. Parādījās sekojošās sieviešu tēlu kategorijas: pirmkārt, cietējas un klusētājas, kuras pakļāvušās sabiedrības spiedienam un baidās no nosodījuma; otrkārt, neatkarīgās sievietes, dumpinieces un karotājas; treškārt, patriarhālās kārtības uzturētājas un atbalstītājas; un visbeidzot, persona ar sevišķu statusu – ārste, kura uzdrīkstas atmaskot Ēģiptes patriarhālās sabiedrības tumšās puses, kā arī pētīt tabū jautājumus, ģimenes noslēpumus un noziegumus, un pie tam par tiem skaļi runāt, pamācīt citus un censties sabiedrību padarīt brīvāku un mūsdienīgāku. The bachelor thesis “Images of Women in The Hidden Face of Eve by Nawal El Saadawi” explores the female characters in the Egyptian feminist, physician, and writer Nawal as Saadawi's work The Hidden Face of Eve: Women in the Arab World. The thesis comprises an introduction, three chapters and ten subchapters, conclusions, summary, references and one appendix. The work employs biographical and feminist critical methods. The aim of the thesis is to examine the images of women and their feminine self-confidence and feminine identity in the context of the social reality of Egypt at that time: how women are described, how they are categorized, what problems they face, what fate they are destined to and how they perceive and narrate their own lives in the work of Nawal El Saadawi. The objectives of the thesis are to investigate the relationship of N. El Saadawi's work The Hidden Face of Eve with the biography of the writer, to find possible prototypes of female characters in the writer's life; to explore the characteristics, roles and problems of the female characters; and to analyse the female characters of N. El Saadawi’s work in the context of the problems of Egyptian society, in particular the clash between patriarchal traditions and 20th century innovations; examine the impact of N. El Saadawi's work on the self-esteem of Egyptian women in the second half of the 20th century, incl, Egyptian/Arab feminism. The documentary story of Nawal El Saadawi is narrated in the first person, drawing on her personal experience of working with women and on the basis of facts that she herself witnessed. The work has led to the classification of the female characters into different categories, taking into account their attitudes towards various hardships, as well as a thorough analysis of their personalities and stories. The following categories of female characters emerged: first, the sufferers and silent women, who have submitted to social pressure and fear condemnation; second, the independent women - rebels and warriors; third, the maintainers and supporters of the patriarchal order; and finally, a person of special status, the doctor, who dares to expose the dark side of Egyptian patriarchal society, to investigate taboo issues, family secrets and crimes, and to speak out about them, instruct others and try to make society freer and more modern. The thesis contains 48 pages.
