Abstract

Bakalaura darba nosaukums ir “Sūfisma ideju interpretācija Idrīsa Šāha grāmatā “The Sufis””. Darba tēma ir “The Sufis” grāmatas analīze par sūfisma filozofijas potenciālu mūsdienu cilvēka dzīvē. Mūsdienās cilvēkiem aug interese par Tuvo Austrumu garīguma praksēm, kas aptver cilvēku skatījumu uz dzīvi. Ņemot vērā valodu barjeru, mācību materiālu dažādība par citās kultūrās atrodamām filozofiska rakstura idejām ir ierobežota, tādēļ ir svarīgi kritiski aplūkot jaunāko laiku reliģiju interpretācijas. Idrīss Šāhs “The Sufis” grāmatas ietvaros vēlējies iepazīstināt Rietumu sabiedrību ar sūfisma mācības idejām, bet tās pielāgotas rietumnieciskās kultūrvides izpratnei. Šāha grāmata ir saņēmusi akadēmisko kritiku, bet “The Sufis” ir darbs, kas Rietumu sabiedrībā pazīstams kā teorētisks sūfisma mācības apraksts, un tas var radīt maldīgus priekšstatus par tradicionālo sūfismu. Darba mērķis ir izvērtēt sūfisma mācības interpretāciju Idrīsa Šāha grāmatā “The Sufis”. Galvenie secinājumi – Idrīss Šāhs ir izveidojis filozofiska rakstura literatūru, kas balstīta uz noteiktiem sūfisma mācības elementiem, interpretējot tos sev un Rietumu sabiedrības pārstāvim saprotamā veidā. Visizteiktāk grāmatā aprakstīta vēršanās pret laicīgās materiālās dzīves prioritizēšanu, apgalvojot, ka tas ir egocentrisks dzīvesveids, kas balstās uz subjektīvismu, un apspiež cilvēka būtnes garīgās izaugsmes potenciālu. Darba struktūra ir ievads, 4 daļas, 10 nodaļas, 1 pielikums, secinājumi, literatūras saraksts, kopsavilkums latviešu un angļu valodā. Darba izstrādē izmantoti 9 avoti un 44 literatūras avoti. Darbā ir 66 lpp. Pirmajā daļā “Ieskats Idrīsa Šāha sūfisma izpratnes problēmās” ir apskatītas Idrīsa Šāha izvirzītās problēmas sūfisma izpratnē, kā arī pamatnosacījumi, lai tās atrisinātu. Otrajā daļā “Idrīsa Šāha darbības vispārīgs raksturojums” ir apskatīti faktori, kas sekmēja Idrīsa Šāha sūfisma interpretācijas izveidošanos, kā arī ieskats organizācijas ISF darbībā. Trešajā daļā “Analītisks ieskats Idrīsa Šāha uzskatos” ir apskatīti galvenie Idrīsa Šāha argumenti, kas izskaidro negatīvos cilvēces aspektus. Ceturtajā daļā “Idrīsa Šāha piedāvātā sūfisma apguves metodika” ir apskatītas Idrīsa Šāha piedāvātās metodes, lai apgūtu sūfisma mācību.

The title of the bachelor's thesis is “Interpretation of Sufism Ideas in Idries Shah's Book “The Sufis””. Topic of the work is the analysis of “The Sufis” book on the potential of Sufism philosophy in modern human life. Nowadays, people have a growing interest in the spiritual practices of the Middle East, which encompass people's view of life. Due to the language barrier, the variety of teaching materials on philosophical ideas found in other cultures is limited, so it is important to look critically at interpretations of recent religions. Idries Shah with the book “The Sufis” wanted to introduce the teachings of Sufism to Western society, but adapted them to the understanding of the Western cultural environment. Shah's book has received academic criticism, but it is important that “The Sufis” is a work known in Western society as a theoretical description of the teachings of Sufism, and it can lead to misconceptions about traditional Sufism. The aim of this work is to evaluate the interpretation of the teachings of Sufism in Idris Shah's book “The Sufis”. Main conclusions - Idries Shah has developed a philosophical literature based on certain elements of the teachings of Sufism, interpreting them in a way that is comprehensible to himself and a representative of Western society. The book best describes the opposition to the prioritization of secular material life, arguing that it is an egocentric way of life based on subjectivism and suppressing the spiritual growth potential of the human being. The structure of the work “Interpretation of Sufism Ideas in Idries Shah’s book “The Sufis”” is an introduction, 4 parts, 10 chapters, 1 appendix, conclusions, bibliography, summary in Latvian and English. In the development of the work were used 9 sources and 44 literature sources. There are 66 pages in the work. The first part, “An insight into the problems of understanding Idriss Shah's Sufism”, discusses the problems raised by Idries Shah in the understanding of Sufism, as well as the basic conditions for solving them. The second part, “General Description of Idries Shah’s Activities” discusses the factors that contributed to the development of Idries Shah’s interpretation of Sufism, as well as insights into the organization ISF. The third part, "Analytical Insight into the Views of Idries Shah", discusses the main arguments of Idries Shah which explains the negative aspects of humanity. The fourth part, “The Methodology of Learning Sufism Proposed by Idries Shah”,, discusses the methods proposed by Idries Shah for learning the teachings of Sufism.
