Korejiešu bēru tradīcijas no 19. līdz 21. gadsimtam

Abstract

Šī bakalaura darba nosaukums ir “Korejiešu bēru tradīcijas no 19. līdz 21. gadsimtam”. Tajā ir apskatītas korejiešu bēru tradīcijas pēdējo 3 gadsimtu laikā, to izmaiņas un katra gadsimta tradīciju lielākie izmaiņu faktori. Nāve un sēras ir neizbēgama cilvēka dzīves daļa, ar ko jebkurš saskarsies kaut vienreiz mūžā, neatkarīgi no tautības, sabiedrības slāņa un reliģiskās piederības. Katrai tautai ir sava bēru kultūra un to papildinošo tradīciju kopums, taču nevienam nav izdevies tik veiksmīgi adaptēties līdzi laika plūdumam kā korejiešiem, sintezējot tradicionālo bēru ceremoniju ar mūsdienīgajām paražām vairāk nekā 300 gadu laikā. Līdz šim lielākā daļa pētījumu par šo tēmu ir bijuši tikai savu gadsimtu robežās, izvairoties no vispārējas kultūrvēstures analīzes, vien retā gadījumā vispārīgā aprakstā, atsaucoties uz iepriekšējo gadsimtu notikumiem un to ietekmi uz allaž mainīgo korejiešu kultūras un tradīciju mantojumu. Sekojot hipotēzei, šī darba mērķi bija: • 1. daļā tika aprakstītas 19. gadsimta Džosonas bēru paražas šamanisma, budisma un konfūcisma kontekstā un analizēt to attīstību un izmaiņas. • 2. daļā aprakstīt 20. gadsimta Korejas lielākos vēsturiskos un politiskos notikumus, kas šajā laika posmā bija lielākie ietekmējošie faktori korejiešu ikdienas un arī tradīciju pārmaiņās; • 3. daļā aprakstīt 21. gadsimta dienvidkorejiešu bēru norisi un tās krasās pārmaiņas globālajā un vietējā ekonomiskajā un kulturālajā vidē. Pēc šo darba mērķu izpildīšanas, darba noslēgumā tika secināts, ka hipotēze apstiprinās un korejiešu bēru tradīcijas ir mainījušās paralēli tā laika posma politiskajiem, ekonomiskajiem un reliģiskajiem faktoriem, ievērojami mūsdienās attālinoties no sākotnējā 19. gs. tradīciju kodeksa.

The topic of this bachelor’s thesis is “Korean Funerary Traditions from the 19th until the 21st Century” and in this work is the overview of Korean funerary traditions of the past 3 centuries, their changes and biggest changing factors of the respective century. Death and grief are an inevitable part of every individual’s life which they come in contact with at least once in their lifetime, regardless of their nationality, social class and religious identity. Each nation has their own funeral culture and the following collection of traditions, yet nobody has achieved such successful adaption along the flows of time like Koreans, synthesizing the traditional funeral ceremony with the modern-day traditions over the span of more than 300 years. Until now majority of the research about this topic has been only within the confines of the respective century, avoiding a more general analysis of the cultural history, with a rare exception of a callback to the general description of the events of the past centuries and their influence on the ever-changing Korean cultural and traditional heritage. Following this hypothesis, the main objectives of this work were: • in the 1st part of the thesis to describe 19th century Joseon funerary traditions in the context of Shamanism, Buddhism and Confucianism and analyze their evolution and changes; • in the 2nd part of the thesis to describe the biggest historical and political events of the 20th century Korea which were the biggest changing factors in regards of Korean daily life as well as traditions; • in the 3rd part of the thesis to describe a South Korean funeral in the 21st century and its drastic change in the global and domestic economic and cultural environment. After the mentioned objectives were achieved it was concluded that the hypothesis is correct and Korean funerary traditions have changed parallel of the political, economic and religious factors, significantly distancing itself from the initial 19th century tradition codex.
